Rue Siddiqui, senior, is the Co-Online Editor for the Marquette Messenger. This will be her third full year on staff. She is also a part of the Politics Club, Key Club, and Model UN. In her free time, she enjoys reading, thrifting, and listening to music.

In 2015, the U.S. Congress recognized October as National Dyslexia Awareness Month. Senior Emma Hasler, who was diagnosed two years later, said she is glad it exists. “Dyslexia can definitely take a toll if you’re still in that phase where you’re embarrassed,” Hasler said. “That’s why awareness is so important. It shows that this isn’t abnormal or something to be ashamed of.”

“Our club has an international focus, but this year we really want to hone in on problems at home and in our society as well,” Tadakamalla said. “It’s easy to see a problem around the world and say that it’s a shame, but it’s another to actually do something about it, even if it is indirect.” So, Tadakamalla said she will continue projects such as placing menstrual products in the MHS bathrooms as well as care baskets for women across the globe.
