Freddie Garris, freshman, uses the same Chromebook he had in middle school to complete an assignment in Laurie Schultzs Ninth Grade Language Arts class. This year, incoming freshmen havent received new Chromebooks, but if Prop 3 passes, money will go toward supporting technology such as Chromebook distribution.

Former Principal Dr. Hankins aids the lunch and administration staffs in cleaning the Commons after every lunch shift last school year. The custodial shortage began around the time of COVID and has continued into this school year. As a result, the administration has reached out to faculty and staff members to apply for part-time custodial work.

Felicity Garton, senior, presents a painting at the St. Louis Art Museum. Garton researched the painting in her AP French class, and she presented it in French. Garton said this was her favorite part of the field trip, and she is glad field trips have returned. I always feel like Im more apt to want to pay attention if what were doing is exciting and new, Garton said.

“Our club has an international focus, but this year we really want to hone in on problems at home and in our society as well,” Tadakamalla said. “It’s easy to see a problem around the world and say that it’s a shame, but it’s another to actually do something about it, even if it is indirect.” So, Tadakamalla said she will continue projects such as placing menstrual products in the MHS bathrooms as well as care baskets for women across the globe.
