I am a junior and it is my second year on staff. Besides newspaper, I participate in Tri-M, RSD Lives, Symphonic Orchestra, and more. I also enjoy spending my time mountain biking, rock climbing, skiing, and participating in Marquette's Track and Field team.

Juniors Anvita Rani and Apurva Ganti witness the solar eclipse on Monday, April 8, alongside all students, faculty and staff. During today’s eclipse, only 98.3% of the sun’s visible light will be blocked, so the sky won’t darken. Wearing solar eclipse glasses was highly recommended to protect viewers’ eyes.

In addition to placing first in her division at the state archery competition, senior Sydney Sonn’s score of 514 set a new state record for the highest score in her USA Archery Junior Olympic Archery Development age division, females ages 18-21, for this indoor state competition.

On Nov. 16, 2021, members of the community gathered to mourn and commemorate the lives of Jake Keifer, Rhegan Sajben and Cole Anello who passed away in a car accident a couple days earlier. Now, the families of Keifer and Sajben are offering scholarships to the Class of 2024 in their childrens names.

The Girl Scouts are collecting new or gently used children’s books to benefit the Assistance League of St. Louis From Friends program. Donation boxes will be at MHS from April 24 to May 5. “Exposure to reading and learning new things is beneficial to everyone and so seeing these book drives and free libraries around town is really amazing and beneficial to all families,” Brittany Sharitz, librarian, said.
