Athlete Profile: Frankie Thomas

Twelve Years is a long time to play a sport, especially when you plan to continue throughout the rest of your life.

Frankie Thomas, sophomore, has been playing golf since he was three years old, “It’s a game where the worst player in the world can play and compete fairly against the best player in the world, due to handicap.”

Playing number two varsity rank his freshman year, and number one rank his sophomore year, Frankie has a passion that is undying for the sport that he loves.

“As of now, I am playing as the number one golfer, but our team is very well rounded, and there are plenty of great golfers.”

Thomas plays on no other teams; however, he prefers to compete individually in outside tournaments, even making his way to national and even world competitions.

His favorite memory of the sport was when he won a world tournament called “Pepsi Little People’s World Championship.”

Thomas hopes to play both professionally and in college, his dream school being Baylor University.

As a freshman the Marquette Golf Team was undefeated and made it all the way up to state where they placed third.

“Golf is such a great sport because I can play in the rest of my life, and it is rare to find a sport where that is possible.”
