Waha Siddiqui, Editor in Chief

Waha Siddiqui, senior, is the Editor in Chief of the Messenger for the 2020-2021 school year. Beside her involvement in student journalism at Marquette, she is the Co-President of the Muslim Student Alliance (MSA) chapter, and involved in Mu Alpha Theta and the National Honors Society. Outside of school, Waha finds herself involved in passion projects that work to bring about change through student activism, especially in electoral politics, and projects that use the might of written word to move people. In her free time, Waha enjoys surrounding herself with friends, family, and a disheveled collection of music and books.

Janvi Huria, senior, writes about online learning’s racial and gender inequality and mental health factor for her upcoming blog post. “I’m really into gender inequity in various spaces so topics like this instantly catch my eye,” she said. Generally, Huria spends three hours researching a topic and about an hour writing and editing the post. She then has her parents read it over one last time before making an illustrated cover and finally hitting the “post” button.
