An Open Letter to Stan Kroenke

Alec Baris, Sports Editor

Dear Enos Stanley Kroenke,

As a die-hard Rams and St Louis sports fan, I just want to say thank you.

Thank you, Stan Kroenke, for being a businessman over a genuine person. Thank you, Stan Kroenke, for completely disregarding our efforts to keep the team we love in St Louis. Thank you, Stan Kroenke, for saying our efforts are unappealing, and we can’t support a football team. Thank you, Stan Kroenke, for constantly disrespecting our fan base and saying we don’t support the team, and not realizing we don’t show up to games because of you. Thank you, Stan Kroenke, for not keeping your promises. Thank you, Stan Kroenke, for thinking about Kroenke Sports Enterprises first, before those who have supported a team through countless seasons of mediocrity.

All in all, I feel disrespected and betrayed, and much like the rest of the city, we want you out. I am tired of being lied to; we obviously do not matter to you and have no say..

To make matters worse, you stated that our city, compared to ALL OTHERS IN THE COUNTRY,  is struggling. So, we are now past the facts, and we know you will do/say anything to make you sound like a good person out of this.

It would be one thing if you were witnessing this yourself, but you don’t live in the city. How can you accuse St Louis of these travesties when you don’t reside in the community yourself? You’re just coming off as desperate and misinformed.

Now that the Rams are gone, we are happy that you got what you wanted. You told us one thing when you became owner: “I am going to do everything in my power to keep the Rams in St Louis.” Is disrespecting and betraying our fan base your effort to keep the Rams here?

But hey, thank you, Stan. At least we know where we stand.
