Student balances life outside school

Being involved in extracurricular activities is one of the best ways to both have fun and meet new people outside the normal classroom. Lauren Eimer, junior, keeps her life busy and eventful through all of the events and activities she participates in both in and out of school.

Eimer is following in her older sister Jordan Eimer’s, senior, footsteps by becoming a sprinter for the track and field team, running the 100 and 200 meter dash.

“I knew a lot of people on the team,” Eimer said. “They’re a great group of girls and I really like the sport.”

Being involved outside of school can be just as important as being involved within it, something Eimer knows all about.

“I work at American Eagle,” Eimer said. “I do everything from selling to cashiering and I’m also a personal stylist there, so I get to help people style their outfits.”

On the topic of fashion, Emier is also a part of an internship at Nordstrom’s BP where she is a member of the fashion board and committee.

As for sports outside the world of Marquette, Eimer dances at Renee Johnson’s Dance Studio where she takes two hip hop classes every week.

“Typically I’ve done jazz and ballet, but this year I decided to just do two hip hop classes,” Eimer said.

Even with her busy schedule, Eimer makes sure to put time aside for herself to relax and hang out with her friends and family.

“We like to go shopping, see movies, hang out at someone’s house and go swimming in my new pool,” Eimer said. “We just really like to have a good time together.”
