When asked about her life, one word comes to sophomore Kristin Blake’s mind: yearbook. As a member of the Medallion staff, Blake dedicates much of her time to working on the next edition of MHS’s yearbook.

“It’s gratifying to see a product I’ve spent hours on,” Blake said.

Blake hopes to pursue a career based off of her yearbook skills in either graphic design or communications.

Along with yearbook, Blake is also involved in sophomore advisory, swim team, and Glamor Gals, which is a group of MHS students that goes to senior living homes to give the women who live there makeovers.

“The goal is to make them feel special and show that this generation cares about them,” Blake said.

Outside of school, Blake leads a Bible study and is involved in the leadership of her youth group. Blake helps plan youth group meetings and makes sure the group’s activities are carried out well.

Academically, Blake is interested in French. She is in French II and enjoys speaking French. Blake said she is looking forward to spending time with a French student coming to visit St. Louis over the summer. Over the summer, Blake is also going on the MHS trip to Europe with other French and AP European History students.
