Rams would do better in STL

Ryan Copenhaver

Mr. Bayless has hit the nail right on the head here. St. Louisans are the best sports fans not just for baseball and hockey, but also football. The St. Louis Rams are held hostage by Stan Kroenke and nobody can do anything about it. But moving doesn’t seem to make a lot of sense, and a billionaire that is all about his money should know this. The Rams have a collective attendance rate of 89% with a team that has had over a dozen losing seasons with the latest playoff run in ‘04. Kroenke won’t see this turnout in LA with a team that consistently underperforms. Secondly, and more importantly, the demographics of the St. Louis fan base and Los Angeles fan base are polar opposites. The majority of Rams fans fall into the 18-25 year old age group, while the fan base in Los Angeles is 50-60 year olds. The St. Louis fans are just now becoming independent and starting careers and families, so the franchise here has opportunity to grow. Los Angeles will have to at least wait 15 years for demographics like St. Louis. Go Rams!
