Student Profile: Connor Jenkins
Juggling school and extra-curricular activities can be a problem for some students. Connor Jenkins, senior, spends his time going from school events to theatre after school.
Jenkins explained that he’s currently working on Marquette’s theatre production Seven Brides for Seven Women.
“I am the lead,” he said. “I am Adam Pontipee. Also the music director just quit so I’m taking over as music director of the play.”
Jenkins added that he joined theatre when his friend convinced him during his sophomore year.
“I was originally going to do crew and I wanted to do all the sound stuff but then he was like no you have to try out,” he said.
Jenkins hasn’t only worked on theatre, he explained that he had other activities during his early high school years.
“Freshman year I did lacrosse and cross country,” he said. “That was the worst idea. I was goalie. It was horrible.”
He added that he struggles to juggle school and his extra-curricular activities.
“I stay up late,” Jenkins said. “I stay up until like one in the morning and I don’t start homework until like ten.
He said that he plans to pursue a musical career in the future.
“I’m double majoring in music and business so I want to be a music director for a theatre company,” Jenkins said.
