Athlete Profile: Alyssa Lemon
Alyssa Lemon started swimming at four years old. Now, she is about to go to state as a freshmen.
Lemon initially joined swimming because she wanted to be with her friends.
“I wanted to swim with them,” she says, explaining that she wanted to swim after seeing her friends beginning to learn to swim.
Now, Lemon practices swimming two hours every day.
“I like it,” Lemon said, “It’s challenging but helpful.”
As for state, Lemon said she was excited to be going.
“I have all my cuts except two,” Lemon said.
In the future, Lemon said she would like to continue her swimming career in college, however she doubtful of swimming after.
“I would like to, but it’s hard.” Lemon said.
Currently Lemon’s best stroke is her 100 freestyle, with a time of 54.4 seconds. Freestyle is also Lemon’s favorite stroke.
Jennifer Holman, one of Lemon’s teachers describes her as an “outstanding student”.
