Spring Preview: Girls lacrosse

The 2014 season ended for the lacrosse girls in a hard-fought playoff game against St. Joseph’s Academy causing the Mustangs to say goodbye to their seniors early.

Girls lacrosse lost 10 seniors once the 2014 season ended. This coming season the Mustangs have six.

“The difference this season is the ratio of upper classmen to lower classmen,” Claire Green, junior, said. “Even though we lost a lot of seniors we have good chemistry and skill.”

Coach Chris Elledge organized offseason workouts for the girls three times a week creating a close group of players.

“We focused a lot on team bonding this off season,” Elledge said.

“Our team chemistry is definitely way better,” Rachel Gosen, senior, said. “We had cliques on our team last year.”

Green and Gosen agreed that the ratio of upper classmen to underclassmen won’t affect the lacrosse team this season.

Elledge said he’s looking forward to being competitive and having fun this season.
