Curriculum Night to be held Wednesday night

MHS’s Curriculum Night and Activities Fair was originally scheduled last week for Thursday, Jan. 20, but due to inclement weather the event has been rescheduled for this Wednesday, Jan. 26 from 6:30 pm to 8 pm.

“Curriculum Night is the opportunity for incoming freshmen and students coming from private schools to learn about curriculum courses, athletics and anything else at Marquette,” Senior Principal Carl Hudson said.

Two thirty-minute informational presentations for the parents of incoming freshmen will be held in the theater regarding course selection, the enrollment process and other information pertaining to the transition to high school. One will be held at 6:30 pm for last names beginning with A-M and another at 7:30 pm for last names beginning with N-Z.

“It’s informal enough that students and parents can ask their own questions to find out more about Marquette’s academic and extra-circular opportunities,” Mark Linneman, activities director, said.

In addition to the presentations and various tables set up in both gyms, spirit-wear and bumper stickers will also be sold.

For students needing credit hours for NHS or Key Club and are interested in helping with Curriculum Night, contact Karen Smith at [email protected].
