Diversity Alliance to host movie night

Diversity+Alliance+to+host+movie+night+

On Tuesday, Nov. 23, the Diversity Alliance will be hosting their first movie night.

Katie Upchurch, junior, will be hosting this event at her house since the movie night is not school sponsored.

If students are interested in going, students should meet on the stage after school to receive directions to her house.

“We’re going to be watching the movie ‘Bullied,’” Upchurch, said.

The Diversity Alliance decided to watch this movie as a bonding activity and to get to know each other on a one-to-one basis while watching an informational movie, Upchurch said.

‘Bullied’ is a 40-minute documentary about a gay man and his bullied journey through middle school and high school.

“We decided to watch this movie because none of us had ever seen it before,” Upchurch said. “Logan Gidday also suggested it and said it was good.”

In the future, the Diversity Alliance plans to host a Mini-Festival of Nations, volunteer at food pantries and participate in the Day of Silence.

The next Diversity Alliance meeting will be held on Thursday, Dec. 9 after school.
