Mustangs Mourn the Loss of Student: Evelyn Pring

Mustangs are mourning the loss of Evelyn Pring, sophomore, who lost her life in an accident Friday, March 25.

Pring was born February, 10, 2006,  and was a relatively new student to MHS.

Sophomore Principal Dr. Julie Spurgeon said she was a great person whose loss will impact the school.

“We are extraordinarily sorry for the loss of Evelyn Pring, and our prayers are with her family and those who knew her. We feel for our school family and have resources for those who need support,” Dr. Spurgeon said. “It’s an unfortunate situation and a devastating loss to Marquette High School.”

Principal Dr. Steve Hankins wrote in an email to the MHS community Monday afternoon that counselors will be available to students to help students and staff.

“I fully understand that as a community and a family we have suffered tremendous loss this year, and hearing about Evelyn may be difficult,” Dr. Hankins said in the email. “We are so fortunate to have the appropriate resources as well as a caring network of professionals and community members who are here to support you.”
