Jessica Li, senior, is the Features Editor for the Messenger. She is also the Vice President of Membership of FBLA and a member of HOSA. She is passionate about science and dance. She enjoys hiking and reading.

Children attend a simplified Chinese class at the St. Louis Chinese Language School at Selvidge Middle School. The teacher discussed the coronavirus, how easily it can spread and how a carrier does not have to show any symptoms to transmit it. Students raised $200 for Wuhan relief by donating spare change and their allowance.

Each unit, Huria comes in for a week to teach fifth graders about additional topics outside their curriculum. “I hope the kids learn not only can you make a career just by asking questions but hopefully they can find something they're passionate about that can last a long time,” Huria said.

Many students who were competing in the same event studied together. Shaily Laad, freshman, competed in Medical Terminology. She joined HOSA because she thought it would be a good opportunity for a student interested in medicine. Since this was her first year, she struggled with finding the right studying materials. "I didn't really know how to prepare for my event," Laad said. "My studying consisted mostly of quizlets."

On March 22, students had the opportunity to view artwork from AP Art Studio students. The theater lobby was filled with different drawings, paintings, pictures, and sculptures. Though the artwork was available for viewing all day, many students decided to take a look around during their lunch shift.
