Shyam Punnachalil, senior, is an Associate Producer for MHSNews and a Sports Editor The Marquette Messenger. This is Shyam’s third year in MHSNews, and first semester in the Messenger. Shyam is also in the Speech and Debate team. In his free time, Shyam talks to his friends or watches TV shows on Netflix.

Lee was happy to hear that Maryville University would be resuming its Super Smash Bros. Ultimate tournaments. “I am excited to have new competition to face and happy to see others enjoy competing in a game that I love,” Lee said.

Ramla Jumat, seventh grader, waves the flag of Tanzania as a part of a performance with the African Kidz Performing Arts group at the first ever Festival of Nations at MHS Wednesday, March 8. This event consisted of many organizations, groups and people performing dances, setting up informational booths and showcasing different foods. Jumat enjoyed performing because she wants people to know more about African culture. “I like doing this because I want our voices to be heard by others,” Jumat said.

Jason Zhao, junior, programs code onto the flight computer for Astral Orbit, a rocketry team. Zhao is an aspiring programmer and has tried using ChatGPT for code. Zhao said he didn't like it because he didn't find that it worked properly. Zhao likens ChatGPT to StackOverflow, a question-and-answer website for programmers.
