  • Alex Musel, senior, takes a few steps toward third base to extend his lead off. MHS beat Parkway West at home 1-0 on April 4, to bounce back from their 12-0 loss against Parkway South previously on April 1. MHS is now 6-2-1 with both losses being to CBC and Parkway South.

  • Throwing out the first pitch to start the second inning, Rusty Graves, senior, threw for the entire game. Graves only gave up three hits and had six strikeouts to contribute to their 1-0 win over Parkway West on April 4.

  • Applying the tag, senior Alex Musel attempts to gain an outon a pick off to first base by the pitcher. Although the tag did not lead to an out, it caused the runner to shorten their lead.

  • Sean Keegan, senior, steals second base after being walked to first after four balls. Keegan also advanced to third base after the ball was overthrown to second. Keegan went on to be the only run scored for MHS after scoring on a passed ball.

  • Calling a mound visit after a few hits were given up, Head Coach John Meyer gathers the infield to discuss what to do. After the meeting Rusty Graves, senior, got the team out of the inning and went on to finish the game with six strikeouts.

  • Watching the ball kick up dirt, senior Sam Shackelford watches the pitch go by to be a ball. Shackelford had two at bats where he struck out once and fielded out after putting the ball in play.

  • Gathering the ball at first, Alex Musel, senior, watches the other runners to prevent them from advancing. Musel tried to beat the runner to first for the out, but beating the throw Parkway West Senior Brayden Gilmore was safe

  • Walking across the field, the Mustangs shake hands with the Parkway West athletes after their 1-0 win. MHS plays their next game on April 5 at Parkway West against Parkway West. Currently Marquette sits at 6-2-1.
