Jan. 18 is the last date students can turn in their applications for the Dream Catchers scholarship, an opportunity for students to receive at maximum $750 to attend a summer opportunity of their choice.
To be considered, an applicant must submit the Dream Catchers scholarship application found on the Rockwood website, a recommendation form from a Rockwood staff member, and a second recommendation form from a person of their choice.
A foundation selection committee will review all applications for pursuit of a passion, personal goal, quality of application, and willingness to share the experience to help others become Dream Catchers, according to the Dream Catcher’s website.
“I may apply for the Dream Catchers scholarship,” Eileen Huang, sophomore said. “I would like to attend debate camp again this summer, but it is very expensive. This would be a great way to reduce the cost.”
The application requires applicants to provide a detailed list of expenses for potential summer programs, and asks each applicant to carefully weigh the cost of the program and request only what is needed to successfully participate.
A wealth of opportunities exists for young adults in the areas of arts, leadership, community awareness, history, and the sciences. Our students can benefit from opportunities that include camps, lessons, conferences, and specialized courses of study, according to the Rockwood Schools Foundation.
