Emily Rudolph, junior, has been playing volleyball since the fifth grade.
“I used to play soccer,” Rudolph said. “But I got too tall for that, so I switched to volleyball.”
Now, six years later, Rudolph and the rest of MHS’s varsity girls volleyball team are headed to the state Final Four.
“We’re at the level of play that we need to be,” Rudolph said. “We’re making our plays at the right times, we’re peaking at the right times.”
Rudolph said making it to the Final Four has been a goal for the team all year, and she’s optimistic their State chances.
“I hope we’ll do well,” Rudolph said. “I feel like if we play our best, we should be able to get pretty far. The other teams are tough, but we’re pretty good too.”
She said the best part of the year hasn’t been the games, but the team.
“I feel like our whole team gets along really well,” Rudolph said. “We’ve got really good chemistry on and off the court. We’re getting to our potential.”
