Mid calves and flow. Sam Campbell, junior, is on varsity lacrosse.
Campbell has played lacrosse for the last six years. One of his favorite aspects of the sport is how close he and his teammates become by the end of a season. This year he is also playing for LBD Elite.
“I usually play for a select team every year,” Campbell said. “We usually play in four tournaments.”
Although lacrosse is Campbell’s favorite sport, it has proven to be dangerous for him and his opponents. Campbell says he has been hurt many times and has unintentionally hurt other players.
“Yes, it’s very dangerous,” Campbell said. “I’ve put people out of the game.”
Along with three concussions Campbell has broken his pinky and had a deep bone injury in his elbow.
Campbell has had many experiences with injuries over the seasons. During his freshman year during a game Campbell ran into one of the players from the opposite team, and caused the player to seriously injure his neck.
“I ran into him, and then he fell,” Campbell said. “I’ve broken someone’s neck.”
Campbell plans on playing lacrosse while he’s in college. He said he wants to play for Jacksonville University.
The complexity and how much talent is required to play lacrosse is often underestimated Campbell said.
“Were the best athletes,” Campbell said. “We’re like super humans.”
