Aleena Shaik (she/her), junior, is a staff reporter for the Marquette Messenger. This is her first year on staff. She is a part of multiple clubs such as StuCo, HOSA, and FBLA. She is also a part of M-Crew. In her free time, Aleena likes spend time with her friends.

Reece Foreman, junior, went to the Harry Style concert with her friend, Olivia Holt. Foreman has gone to four concerts in the past few months. "Concerts give me so much serotonin and I really recommend going to one with your friends," Foreman said.

After several athletes from the same countries and organizations have been positive for performance-enhancing drugs, many responsible have not been held accountable. Whether it is being banned from international sports competitions and deprived of earned medal, there needs to be more done to insure that doping does not continue.

MACC postponed the winter dance to March 5, due to snow days. Special Education teacher Dr. Holly Hick, sponsor of MACC, hopes MHS students buy tickets to the winter dance to support the MACC. “The Marquette community is always so supportive,” Hick said. “I hope people come out to represent.”

The newest Mookie costume, made in 2017, features a muscular horse with the school colors of green and navy blue in the mane. These colors, along with the mascot of the Mustang, were chosen purely for aesthetic according to Hannah Clampitt, class of 1996, who was a part of the group that made this decision. “I was proud to have been a part of the naming process,” Clampitt said. “I really liked the colors and thought it was really classic.”
