Keith Greishaber, sophomore, loves soccer. He has been playing the game since he was four years old and plans on playing as long as he can.
“I love the running and the feeling I get when I score a goal,” Greishaber said.
Scoring is a feeling he is accustomed to. In the first two games of the season he had a grand total of eight goals.
The first game of the season against Barat Academy ended 11-2 in favor of the Mustangs, five of the goals credited to Greishaber.
“I was just feeling good in that game, everything was jelling on the field and going in the back of the net,” Greishaber said.
The second game against St. Charles ended 4-0, MHS on top once again. Greishaber scored three of the four goals.
“I was pretty excited to get the hat trick,” Greishaber said. “My teammates did a great job of putting me in a good position to score.”
In the first home game of the season against Francis Howell North, he put in two of the team’s five goals to make a 5-0 win for the Mustangs.
He was named MVP of the varsity team last year as a freshman, and named team captain this year. He has high hopes for this season.
“Overall, I think we are going to do very well this fall,” Greishaber said. “We will have our good and bad moments like any other team but it should be a great season.”
