Satire: Donald Trump Jr.’s Dehumanization of Immigrants is Off The Mark

Last Tuesday night after President Trump’s Oval Office address, the president’s son, Donald Trump Jr., decided to enlighten many bleeding-heart liberals through his Instagram story that there is absolutely nothing wrong with dehumanizing illegal immigrants as long as everyone can get in on the fun.

He posted the following statement to his Instagram story: “You know why you can enjoy a day at the zoo? Because walls work.” I believe he means that zoo walls keep people safe while they enjoy their trip, but you might have to fact-check me on that.

Despite his brilliance, it doesn’t take a genius to know that walls stop objects in motion. Even Newton knows that. It also doesn’t really matter if you’re a hopeful hyena with a family looking for refuge in America, a savage immigrant trying to chew up the nearest human infant or even a half-baked businessman-turned-president fighting the Senate; that wall will probably stop you.

One problem I do take up with the Junior’s statement is that he seems to be insinuating that immigrants are locked up zoo animals. The comment does run in line with his father’s label of “rapist” on the back of everyone ages just-birthed and up crossing the border, but I think his statement is seriously misplaced.

As the president’s son, he should obviously be following his father’s every whim, including supporting him in every plausible decision, so how did Mr. Trump Jr. confuse his father’s wall for the walls in a zoo? Naturally anyone can enjoy a day at the zoo because of the finely placed brick-and-mortar walls, but how could walls like that ever keep out the “rapist(s)” and guy(s) who will steal your job? Considering the gaps between the bricks are perfect handholds, I don’t see how a wall used in a zoo could ever keep out dangerous immigrant families.

Instead, Mr. Trump Jr. really should have advertised a goliath-sized wall constructed of pure gold with armed guards on duty 24 hours a day on every day except Sunday, because that’s the Lord’s day.

But I really am just giving the guy a hard time. He’s only participating in the dehumanization of a large minority group that can be easily taken advantage of. It’s not like he and the rest of the Trump family could ever be compared to the likes of “purely democratic” leaders like Adolf Hitler or Joseph Stalin because those guys actually kept their oppressed people in real detainment camps.

The closest thing the U.S. has to detainment camps are areas closed off by barbed wire fences that separate family units and prevent them from leaving.
