Thursday, Mar. 15, Student Council members are hosting a service drive called Hats on for Cancer.
“[Hats on for Cancer] has been taking place at Marquette for over 10 years now,” Tracey Waeckerle, Student Council sponsor, said.
Stickers are being sold for $1 before school Wednesday and Thursday in the commons and during all three lunch shifts on Wednesday on the stage.
“For students and staff to be eligible to wear their hat they must donate at least a dollar to the organization to get a sticker,” Waeckerle said. “Then they can wear their hat all day Thursday. Student council is donating all of the money raised during the drive to Friends of Kids with Cancer.”
The Student Council’s goal is raise $1,000 for the organization.
“We raised about $600 dollars last year and with 2,500 students and faculty at our school, it shouldn’t be hard to raise the money,” Waeckerle said. “It really should be pretty easy to do.”
