Marquette Theatre Company (MTC) has been chosen to perform “Into the Woods” at the International Thespian Society conference on Thursday, Jan. 10 at the AmericanCenter.
“This is a huge honor,” Judi Greene, Theatre Director, said.
The entire set for “Into the Woods” will be packed into two 26 foot long trucks and driven to the venue, where it will have to be completely unpacked and set up by 7:30 p.m. when the group performs.
The cast will be performing in front of 1400 people including, judges, families, and other actors. The cast has had only two rehearsals since their fall performance at MHS, but “we’re ready” Greene said.
The troupe will perform against 5,000 other students from all over the state for the opportunity to attend nationals.
“Being chosen for nationals is a really big deal,” Lindsey Peters, troupe member, said.
After the Thursday night performance the cast will continue to stay at the Renaissance hotel and attend various acting workshops at theAmericaCenterduring the day, and they’ll see other performances in the evenings, until their return on Saturday.
