Current student and alumnus team up for local performance

On Friday, Nov. 2 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.at The Wolf, Hans Faris, senior, and two other local musicians, Sean Coray, an MHS grad, and Nick Sturgoss, a Lafayette grad, played a free two hour long concert of acoustic music written by Coray.

Coray and Sturgoss played acoustic guitar while Faris played some less traditional instruments- the Kajon, which is a Cuban percussion instrument shaped like a box as well as a type of African goblet drum called the Djmbe. For Faris the most exciting part was playing for such a large group of people.

Faris has started many different types of groups with his friends including a jazz quartet, a blues group and a pop group. He met Coray while he was playing drums at a concert at St. Louis Church. They have maintained a friendship since then and Coray was the one who asked him to join the concert at the Wolf.
