It’s not every day that you hear about a Marquette student getting one score of thirty six on their act, much less two from the same person.
Jordan Bulanda, senior, said she took her first ACT in April of her junior year, and got a thirty six, but had to retake it in June because she had to do the writing portion of the test.
“I didn’t do the writing portion the first time and colleges look for that,” Bulanda said. “I got a 10 on the writing portion when I took it in June.”
Bulanda recently got asked to the Board of Education award ceremony for her 36 on the ACT, and being a National Merit Semifinalist from her scores on the PSAT. Varsity Cheerleading was in attendance to for their first place performance at state, as well as other National Merit Semifinalists.
So far, Bulanda said she has applied to Stanford University and is expecting to hear back from them on Dec. 15.
“I’ve also applied at Rice, Purdue, and Princeton,” Bulanda said. “I’m looking at a couple other but those are my main schools.”
Bulanda said she will be majoring in engineering, and hopes to pursue a career in engineering after college.
With an unweighted GPA of 4.0, Bulanda said she also won other awards at Marquette like Winner’s Circle.
“My main inspiration to do well in school has been my teachers and family,” Bulanda said. “They really pushed me to do my best all the time.”
