Emma Smith, junior, has been playing classical piano since she was 3 years old.

She said encouragement from her mother made her start to play the family’s grand piano. She took to it rather fast and easily.

“I took lessons for 3 years, but once I learned how to read music I taught myself the rest of the way,” said Smith.

Aside from being able to play piano, Smith listens to music when she’s not playing. Her favorite band is Panic! at the Disco.

“I listen to really weird music.” Said Smith, “I went to the imagine dragons concert Saturday at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater.”

When smith isn’t spending her time listening to music, she reads books and plays lots of video games. Smith’s favorite video game is The Legend of Zelda, but she also likes Mario Cart.

“I play Zelda on the Wii, then I play on my PlayStation 3, and I also play games on the computer, like League of Legends and The Sims.” Smith said.
