Every person has qualities and characteristics that make them different from other people. Peterson Hitch, junior, is an actor and an aspiring comedian.
Having acted since he was eight years old, this year Hitch plans on auditioning for MHS’s upcoming “Little Women.”
Hitch took theatre classes all through middle school and also has participated in off campus training in order to practice and master his on-stage skills.
The first show Hitch ever had a role in was the YMCA’s performance of “The Wizard of Oz,” where he played a dwarf, but being eight years old and lacking experience, he still put all his effort into the show.
“I was nervous because there were a lot of people,” Hitch said. “I almost peed my pants.”
Since his first performance, Hitch has acted in multiple shows including performing at the Muny, and in MHS’s own Dinner Theatre.
With continued practice, Hitch said his acting skills and stage presence have improved over the years, and he has become a lot more comfortable performing in front of people.
“I never get stage fright,” Hitch said.
Constantly practicing and preparing for his future career, Hitch is taking steps to insure he can do what he loves later in life.
“My goal is to become a stand-up comedian,” Hitch said. “I’m a funny guy.”
