Lilyann Agler, freshman, first learned how to make Chinese Ladder friendship bracelets at Girl Scout camp when she was 13. Now, she makes them for others all of the time.

“I just like gift giving,” Agler said.

Follow Agler’s steps below to make a Chinese Ladder bracelet.

Step 1

Fold two or more pieces of embroidery string in half and then knot.
Step 2 (Media by Samantha Perz)

Step 2

Take one piece of string and fold it over the other strings to make a four-shape.
Step 3 (Media by Samantha Perz)

Step 3

Pull the strings through the hole and pull it tight.
Step 4 (Media by Samantha Perz)

Step 4

Repeat steps two and three until you are happy with the bracelet’s length.

Step 5

Tie the two ends together in a knot.
