“I went to church at 6:30 this morning and I gave up Dunkin Donuts and Instagram [for Lent]. I waste too much money on Dunkin Donuts iced coffees and I waste too much time on Instagram, so I hope by giving them up I become a better person. To me, the ashes are a sign of penance as we begin lent. As far as the giving up stuff goes, I sacrifice things I enjoy to honor Jesus’ sacrifice,”
