Humans of MHS- Stephanie Lei, Freshman
“My new club is Community Problem Solving, and it’s where a group of students find a problem within their community and try to find ways to solve it. They’ll find challenges, solutions, an underlying problem and they’ll implement a plan of action. It’s really cool – especially if you go to Internationals, which I did for a part of this club last year. We saw kids from Singapore who were creating awareness about Parkinson’s disease. They made this device that made their hands vibrate and shake because people who suffer from Parkinson’s disease have their hands shake very badly – it was really cool. This club is really empowering because you’re seeing kids do all these things – things you really don’t think you can solve. This club is a really good experience and shows kids they really have the power to make a change.”
