Athlete Profile: Aaron Germeroth

Academics are only part of the long road for Aaron Germeroth, junior, as he looks forward to the upcoming baseball season with high hopes.

Germeroth said he trains for baseball almost every day of the week, without much time for rest.

“I work out six times a week and practice baseball four days a week,” Germeroth said.

Germeroth, hopeful varsity infielder for the MHS baseball team, said that he has no time for an off-season or day off.

“My only off-season is the month of August,” Germeroth said. “Other than that, I’m straight on the grind.”

The infielder said this isn’t only for high school, as he hopes to continue his baseball career after MHS.

“I want to reach my full potential and hopefully play college baseball,” Germeroth said. “That is my dream.”

As for what he wants to get out of training, Germeroth said that he hopes to gain physical toughness as well as mental strength.

“Baseball is a unique sport because it is more than just talent and strength,” Germeroth said. “There is a mental aspect to it that can be almost important to the physical side. You need to be ready for any situation, and know what you have to do about the situation before it even occurs.”

Germeroth also said training can be more important than the game itself.

“Training is very important to me,” Germeroth said. “It helps me be in my best shape. I perform better when I am in good shape, both mentally and physically.”

As for the upcoming season, Germeroth hopes the baseball team can repeat its success, even with the loss of seniors the previous year.

“We may have lost a lot of talent, but we are still hopeful for this season,” Germeroth said. “I definitely think we can have the same success; we just need to play together as a team, and wins will come our way easily.”
