  • “The Archers could be a good name for the soccer team because of the Arch in downtown St. Louis. The Arch is considered the ‘Gateway to the West’ so it symbolizes St. Louis and the city’s history,” Hailey Benting, junior, said.

  • “I like the name the St. Louis Spartans because if they are a good team, then they will be hard to beat like a Spartan. It will help represent the talent on the team and the support from the city, and show the strength of the team,” Anthony Caldwell, sophomore, said.

  • “The St. Louis Lions because lions are a sign of royalty so it could help to represent St. Louis and the pride residents have for the city and the soccer team,” Thine Choi, junior, said.

  • “The St. Louis Blue Jays might be a nice name for the new soccer team. The name of the team could have something to do with birds because of the Cardinals. It can’t be Cardinals, but the Robins would be a good option too because it would be great if we had another team named after birds,” Andy Oitker, junior, said.

  • “I think the St. Louis Enterprise would be a good name for the team. The family of Enterprise Rent-A-Car is putting forth a big chunk of the money to make this happen. I want to be grateful to them that there will be a soccer team so my kids can take their kids to go watch soccer in the future. If it’s the St. Louis Enterprise, that’s a great tribute to a good St. Louis company that is giving a lot back to the city,” Senior Principal Rick Regina said.
