Letter to the Editor: Grant Carter
The topic of gun control is very controversial.
The way we should go about gun control is to have better background checks and greater consequences. Many people can walk into a gun store and leave 30 minutes later with a gun. This shows the simplicity of buying a gun.
I have a personal experience of purchasing a firearm for my 18th birthday. I walked into Academy Sports with my mother and found the gun I was looking for and within an hour I walked out with the weapon of mass destruction.
I feel that gun violence is an issue that can be fixed if schools provided information about guns and safety courses so kids don’t accidentally discharge a weapon and cause harm to themselves. This will decrease the number of accidental deaths.
Sincerely,
