This year, the Class of 2025 Committee decided to relocate the annual Senior Farewell, the school-sponsored post Graduation lock in.
While MHS has historically held the event at the school, this year the committee has decided to do something a little different and hold it at Main Event in Chesterfield Valley.
The farewell at Main Event takes place May 10th-11th and begins at 11 p.m. The cost is $85.00 if paid before, and $100.00 if paid on the day.
Witt Tatum, senior, has been looking forward to this farewell since the beginning of his senior year and cannot wait until the time comes.
Tatum said a lot of seniors he knows are excited to be a part of this farewell and are glad the committee chose to do something outside the box.
“I think that it’s different and better than being at school like with the go-karts. At last it would be more fun for me and my friends,“ Tatum said.
Robin Bonczek, School Store Manager, said the Class of 2025 committee has been raising money for the Senior Farewell since 2021.
Bonczek said they rented out the entirety of the building for the farewell.
“I think it just takes liability off the school,” Bonczek said.
Bonczek said Main Event will provide food and drink, and there will be a lot more activities than usual.
“Laser tag, bowling, all the arcade games,” Bonczek said. “We’re bringing in all the things that they had here, so there will still be things like the hypnotist and casino tables.”
Eva Frazer, senior, is excited for her farewell.
“I definitely think it’s going to be a good time because they’re giving out stuff,” Frazer said. “I get to hang out with my friends and celebrate us finishing high school.”
Frazer said the farewell is a moment that signifies seniors leaving MHS behind after a long four years.
“The importance of the farewell I would say is to send off the seniors and to give us a thoughtful farewell into the real world” said Frazer.
