“I grew up right here in St. Louis so I’ve been here my whole life. Actually, when I was younger Mrs. Burger was my neighbor. I’ve always been a few years older than her, but I think that MHS connection is good. I went to UMSL, University of St. Louis and I did my undergrad, my master’s work, my specialty program and I’m currently in my doctoral program at UMSL. I may have the record for the most hours taken at UMSL. Staying in St. Louis has worked out the best for me financially. I didn’t want to graduate with a lot of student loan debt. I made the choice at 18 to stay at home and work through college, and it worked out for me. I was able to graduate without any student loan debt and that’s what I wanted to do,” Rick Regina, Junior Principal, said.
